Our influencer group Kentucky Creatives got to team up with VisitLex to experience the best of the 2022 Breeders’ Cup Festival in Lexington! From movies to dinner experiences this event was the highlight of the Fall season.
Why Breeders’ Cup
The Breeder’s Cup founded in 1984 is a world class 2 day equine event.
Their mission is to conduct the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at the highest levels of quality, safety and integrity and to promote the growth of Thoroughbred breeding, racing and sales through proactive leadership, innovation and service.
This is Lexington’s 2nd time hosting the Breeders Cup Championship in the beautiful landscape of the Bluegrass state.
The Week’s Festivities We Covered
TANDY PARK TAKEOVER
All week long, Tandy Park will be the center of the Breeders’ Cup celebration with live music, food and broadcasts of all the training and activities from Keeneland. Local and national entertainers will perform nightly from 5:30pm till 10pm. Large video boards all around Tandy Park along with food trucks and spirits offerings.

EQUINE FILM FESTIVAL
Enjoy current and film classics built around the world of horses – featuring films such as “Secretariat” as well the recently acclaimed independent film “Jockey”. These classics feature scenes shot in and around the bluegrass region – including Keeneland, The Red Mile and many local horse farms as well.
FASHIONABLE FILLIES AT JEFF RUBY’S
Honoring Keeneland president Shannon Arvin and breeder/owner Helen Alexander, a special fund-raising luncheon will be held at Jeff Ruby’s in downtown Lexington. The event will feature food stations, signature cocktails, live music – and shopping for fashion provided by local boutiques in Lexington. Proceeds benefit The Jockey Club Safety Net Foundation, which provides financial relief and assistance to those in need within the Thoroughbred industry.
THE BOURBON SHOWCASE
Located in the beautiful Clerestory at Greyline Station, the Bourbon Showcase will present over 20 distilleries for bourbon tastings, amazing Kentucky food and musical entertainment. Each distillery will share their bourbon and their unique stories in a truly one-of-a-kind environment. This one-of-a-kind opportunity is sure to be very popular.
