Meet the faces and voices that are making Octane the powerhouse it is.
Meet Agnes
Agnes is a native of Nairobi, Kenya and works as a social media planner for Octane Design Studios.
Q: What do you do to relax?
A: I enjoy watching anime, doodling, and finding a good book to snuggle up with.
Q: What made you get into the industry?
A: I started off as a volunteer for a podcast and got to slowly grow and learn as time went by. It made me realize that I enjoy being creative, coming up with interesting content and designs.
Q: What do you love most about working for Octane?
A: I’m able to learn from amazing people who all have different ideas and skills.
Q Do you have family/kids/ pets?
A: I’m single without any kids and desperately trying to keep my plants alive.
Q: Favorite movie snack and fave movie genre?
A: I love watching crime series. And caramel popcorn is a fav.
Meet Helen
Helen is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, but currently resides in Lexington, Ky (??)., Helen is a graphic designer for Octane Design Studios.
Q: What do you do to relax?
A: I like to read a book, and I’m currently into Lucy Foley
Q: What made you get into the industry?
A: I took a class in college that taught me Adobe programs. I started making graphics and pieces for friends and families.
Q: What do you love most about working for Octane?
The team! It is so clear that everyone is devoted to our goals and that motivates me to do my best!
Q: Family/kids/ pets?
My roommate has a little cat named Bunny, which I have taken in as one of my own as well.
Q: What’s your favorite movie snack and fave movie genre?
A: I love certain indie films. I really like to read about filming techniques and design choices. It is so cool that we can use colors, framing, and other things to communicate different things. I also love animation because of the design elements and the fun!
Meet Tavia
Tavia is a native of Hopkinsville, Ky., but currently resides in Clarksville, Tenn., Tavia is a freelance content creator for Octane Design Studios.
Q: What do you do to relax?
A: I like to craft and create things to relax, listen to music and sip on wine.. It may be refurbishing an old piece and making it a new decoration for the house or just scrapbooking, but I love chillin and crafting especially with friends.
Q: What made you get into the industry?
A: I became interested in journalism as a teenager and went to a summer camp for minorities. The creativity and personal aspect of journalism and my love for writing were activated and I hustled to excel in the field.
Q: What do you love most about working for Octane?
Octane is such a cool space to create with fun, super- talented and diverse women. I love getting to know them better and learning from everyone each week.
Q: Family/kids/ pets?
I’ve been married to my bff Eddie for 10 years, we have one daughter, Elliana, who’s 3, and one foster son, Jordan who’s 9. We also have a Maltese Shi Tzu named Osito, who is very mischievous yet sweet.
Q: What’s your favorite movie snack and fave movie genre?
A: Full disclosure, movies make me sleepy, but I really like comedies, psycho thrillers, romcoms, and crime genres. My favorite snack is white cheddar popcorn, or a good Chicago mix popcorn.
Meet Victoria aka Vico
Maria Victoria Wade, who everyone calls VICO [vee-co], is from Buenos Aires, Argentina and works as a project manager and virtual assistant for Octane Design Studios.
Q: What do you do to relax?
A: I like being outdoors. I like yoga, jogging, long walks with my dog, and training. I am currently part of a running team and really enjoy it! Finding a nice spot to have coffee with a friend is always a good plan.
Q: What made you get into the industry?
A: I have communications in my DNA and have loved this industry since I can remember. But it was a workshop on community management that encouraged me to start working in the digital field!
Q: What do they love most in working for Octane?
A: Meeting wonderful ladies from different corners of the world and see how powerful we are together.
Q: Family/kids/ pets?
A: I live with my dog MONUS (a cute 1 year all caniche toy)
Q: Favorite movie snack and movie genre?
A:Chocolate, for sure. I love romantic comedies and also local films from my country.
