ISO: Octane’s 2019 Summer Interns
General Description
Octane is looking for creative, motivated, and driven high school students who are seeking future careers in: graphic design, photography, marketing, social media influence & management. Interns will get first hand experience organizing various client projects / campaigns and provide overall support of Octane’s social media & online presence.
Qualified candidates must exhibit knowledge in blogging, creative marketing, advertising, and technology trends. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with a professional staff in an authentic, uplifting, community-driven graphic firm based in Lexington KY. Internship period: June-August 2019, Part-Time, Tuesdays & Thursdays + 1 Saturday a month
Reports to Sr. Graphic Designer/ Owner
Qualifications
- Entering High School Junior or Senior starting Fall 2019
- Desire to be a graphic designer, social media manager, photographer and/or event coordinator
- Your own laptop / computer
- Proficient command of English grammar and spelling
- Skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, & Photoshop and/or other common design, and layout applications are not required but IS an advantage.
Skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to collaborate with others / build on ideas
- Basic knowledge of content writing; especially for social media,
- Willing to learn new skills to improve productivity
- Ability to take criticism
- Ability to work independently without constant oversight
- Self starter
- Able to think creatively to solve problems
